Latvian President Andris Berzins during the official visit to Turkmenistan visited the city of Turkmenbashi, where he got acquainted with some of the largest city-sites.
The Head of the Republic of Latvia familiarized with the infrastructure progress in modernizing the technical re-equipment and development prospects of "sea gates" of Turkmenistan at the International seaport of Turkmenbashi.
From the seaport Latvian President Andris Berzins proceeded to the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Here, for the distinguished guest was organized tour of the flagship of the national petrochemical industry.
The Latvian President praised the level of technical and technological equipment of the enterprise.
Then the President Andris Berzins and members of his delegation laid flowers at the grave of former Latvian President Karlis Ulmanis.
The presentation on forming world-class resort at the seaside which was held at the hotel "Nebitchi" in the second half of the day was organized for the Head of the Republic of Latvia.
Today the shore of the Caspian Sea is decorated with magnificent hotels and resorts for children - "Vatanchi", "Hazyna", "Nebitchi", "Kerven", "Kuvvat", "Serdar", "Arzuv", "Dayanch", "Shapak", "Bereket" with all conditions for comfortable rest.
As part of the resort infrastructure a new international airport, roads, a powerful gas turbine power plant, plant for desalination of sea water have been built in Turkmenbashi. Avaza territory is crossed with the navigable river with 7 km of length. Along its banks is being created recreation area with parks, an amphitheater, interactive fountains, cafes and restaurants, piers for marine yachts and pleasure boats.
At the present moment there are 25 new sites are being built in Avaza, 16 of which, will soon be put into operation.
Having made a boat trip on the Avaza river, President Andris Berzins saw the sights of the seaside resort.
On the same day, the President of the Republic of Latvia departed from the city ofTurkmenbashi to homeland.
