On the final day of his official visit to Japan, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren), Hiromasa Yonekura. The meeting was also attended by the heads of major Japanese corporations such as ITOCHU, TOYO Engineering, Chiyoda, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, Marubeni, Toshiba, Komatsu, etc.
In the course of a business breakfast meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects and ways of intensification of the long-term partnership in the energy sector, trade and economic sphere, chemical industry, transport, agriculture and water management and other no less important areas of partnership.
The sides also discussed prospects of establishing direct contacts between businessmen of the two countries and more active adoption of Japanese largest companies’ experience, in particular in the field of business organization and management, establishing highly profitable industries, as well as the training of qualified personnel.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Japan Business Federation expressed mutual confidence in further strengthening of cooperation in line with the priorities and interests of the two friendly peoples.
On the final day of his visit to Japan, the President of Turkmenistan also visited the International Exhibition Center of Tokyo, where the International Tourism Exhibition “JATA Travel Showcase 2013” was under way. Turkmenistan took part in this show for the first time.
At the exhibition center, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Tourism Exhibition “JATA-2013”, Kotaro Kogi, and the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Taleb Rifai.
Accompanied by the head of the International Tourism Exhibition and UNWTO Secretary General, the President of Turkmenistan viewed the exhibition, starting with the exposition of Turkmenistan. Upon completion of the viewing of the Turkmen exposition and brief acquaintance with other sections of the exhibition, the head of the organizing committee of the exhibition “JATA” and UNWTO Secretary-General led the Turkmen President to the Eastern exit of the Centre. Thanking them for the informative discussion and the tour of the exhibition, the President of Turkmenistan bade them farewell and wished them every success in their work and expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation in the field of tourism.
After that, the President of Turkmenistan headed to the International airport “Haneda” of the city of Tokyo, from where the presidential plane took off for Ashgabat.
